What is BIOHIB  and what is it used for ?

BIOHIB is a vaccine used for developing a strong immune response for your child to protect against the childhood illness caused by the bacterium Haemophilus Influenzae type b. The vaccine contains a non-infectious component from the bacterium, which makes your child develop antibodies against the infection

Haemophilus influenzae type b (Hib) is a bacteria centric infectious disease. It spreads by  breathing in droplets from infected people. Infants around 6 to 10 months old are especially at  higher risk of severe illness and death. Those infected often develop meningitis (inflammation of the brain or spinal cord), bacterial infection of the blood and inflammation of the lungs. The disease can lead to deafness, fits and learning difficulties.
