Trex - Trex is an macrolide antibiotic of azalides group. This medication inhibits RNA-dependent protein synthesis of sensitive microorganisms. It active against gram-positive bacteria: Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus spp. (including Streptococcus pneumoniae, Streptococcus pyogenes group A); gram-negative bacteria: Haemophilus influenzae, Haemophilus parainfluenzae, Haemophilus ducreyi, Moraxella catarrhalis, Escherichia coli, Bordetella pertussis, Bordetella parapertussis, Borrelia burgdorferi, Neisseria gonorrhoeae, Campylobacter spp., Legionella pneumophila; anaerobic bacteria: Bacteroides fragilis. MethoTrexate, abbreviated MTX and formerly known as amethopterin, is an antimetabolite and antifolate drug used in treatment of cancer and autoimmune diseases. It acts by inhibiting the metabolism of folic acid. MethoTrexate began to replace the more powerful and toxic antifolate aminopterin starting in the 1950s, and the two should not be confused with each other. Indications: bacterial infections Skin and soft tissue infections, Respiratory tract infections, Uncomplicated genital infections due to Chlamydia trachomatis, Uncomplicated gonorrhoea, Prophylaxisof disseminated Mycobacterium avium complex (MAC) infections, Granuloma inguinale, Active immunisation against typhoid fever caused by Salmonella typhi Indications: Potent mucolytic and mucokinetic agent, capable of bringing out bronchial secretion especially mucous plugs. Chronic obstructive lung disease and bronchiectisis. Indications: Maintaining remission in children with acute leukaemias. Autoimmune diseases like rapidly progressing rheumatoid arthritis, severe psoriasis, pemphigus, myasthenia gravis, uveitis, chronic active hepatitis.
